Cathodic Protection, Flood Monitoring & Ventilation Control System Upgrade

We delivered, designed and deployed a fully integrated cathodic protection monitoring, flood level detection, and ventilation control system. The solution enhances asset protection, improves environmental monitoring, and ensures continuous operational reliability through advanced automation and real‑time reporting.

Leveraging a Siemens PLC architecture with distributed I/O panels, the system monitors over 60 shunt resistors, 44 float level sensors, and multiple differential and static pressure transmitters to provide accurate, filtered, and high‑resolution data for corrosion protection and water intrusion management. All data is processed, trended, and available to the upstream Building Management System (BMS).

To support environmental control, the installation includes dual Siemens G120 Variable Speed Drives, providing intelligent duty/standby fan control over Profinet, delivering efficient airflow and pressure regulation. Adjustable thresholds, fan speed control, and automatic duty rotation ensure stable performance and reduced mechanical wear.

Integration with the facility’s BMS is achieved via ModbusTCP, enabling seamless transfer of instantaneous measurements, alarms, VSD telemetry, and daily statistics. Remote diagnostics and commissioning are provided through an Ewon 4G VPN, ensuring fast, secure support and minimising site downtime.
